Bracenet ist ein Hamburger Start-up für den Schutz der Meere. Wir retten Meerestiere und bewahren Ökosysteme, indem wir Geisternetze bergen und in Upcycling-Handarbeit zu neuen Produkten verarbeiten. Jedes Bracenet bedeutet ein Stück Geisternetz weniger – so stehen wir für eine Circular Economy und demokratisieren den Schutz der Meere. Langfristig wollen wir uns selbst abschaffen, denn das würde bedeuten, die Meere wären endgültig vom Spuk der Netze befreit.
Dafür stehen wir im Austausch mit NGOs, Wirtschaft, Forschung und Politik, um präventive Lösungen zu entwickeln und gemeinsam mehr zu erreichen. Außerdem weisen wir Wege für nachhaltiges Wirtschaften und beraten zum Beispiel Telekom, Lufthansa, Werder Bremen, Zurich Versicherungen und About You, wie sie Prozesse und Produkte nachhaltiger gestalten können.

Bracenet is a German start-up with the mission to save the seas. We rescue marine life and preserve ecosystems by retrieving ghost nets and upcycling them into new products by hand. As every Bracenet means one piece of ghost net less, we stand for a circular economy and democratize the protection of the oceans. We strive towards a world in which we no longer have to exist, since that would mean that no more ghost nets are haunting our oceans.
To this end, we are in exchange with NGOs, businesses, researchers and politicians to develop preventive solutions. We also lead the way in doing business sustainably and consult, for instance, Telekom, Lufthansa, Werder Bremen, Zurich Versicherungen and About You on how to design their products and processes to be more sustainable.
