Brain & Language Lab // Vienna University & Université de Genève

The Brain & Language Lab, situated at the University of Vienna, Austria, and the Université de Genève, Switzerland, aims at better understanding the brain functional and structural bases of auditory encoding, of speech and language, and of language-learning, both in terms of high ability (e.g. aptitude) and low ability (e.g. dyslexia). Our highly interdisciplinary team comprises psychologists, cognitive neuroscientists, linguists and engineers. We strongly believe in multidisciplinary research and in building bridges across disciplines to advance knowledge! In our research, we use behavioural, functional and structural brain imaging methods to study auditory, phonetic, and lexical processing, extending to multilingualism and to dyslexia, and to domain-general processes that modulate and are modulated by language processing and expertise.
