Brampton Community Mediation Services (BCMS) is a non-profit community mediation service available to residents of Brampton who are experiencing conflict in their personal life with a neighbour, landlord, tenant, friend, or family member.
Community mediation has a long history of helping people navigate hard to deal with issues that have been traditionally referred to the police, lawyers or by-law enforcement.
Community mediation is a collaborative process of problem solving where neutral mediators facilitate a conversation that is respectful, safe, and productive. The process empowers individuals to understand each other’s perspectives and make decisions that will benefit both sides. For that reason, the solutions are more likely to be successful. The service also offers conflict coaching to help individuals communicate more effectively and learn how to raise concerns without escalating conflict.
