Brandywine Rentals began as an idea in 1995, growing out of Brandywine Companies - a Meinhardt family-owned business with a rich history in Maryland, going back to 1927. With decades of experience in the heavy equipment and trucking industries, it made sense for the third generation of the Meinhardt family to add an equipment rental business to the portfolio. The rental business started slowly, pulling inventory to serve our neighbors from the family’s used truck and equipment dealership just across Crain Highway. A core team of employees developed over the years as we started renting with just a few excavators, forklifts and manlifts. The company became independent and was rebranded in 2012 to Brandywine Rentals, the company you know today. Fueled by the demand for equipment in Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia, the business began to grow quickly. The fourth generation of the Meinhardt family developed a plan to bring new value to their service area. New and late model equipment was pumped into the fleet and a new bar was set for outstanding service. Brandywine Rentals has embarked on a mission to be the premier rental equipment supplier in Washington, D.C. and its surrounding communities.
