Breakthrough Energy Project

In 2004 the Ansari X-Prize offered a $10 million prize to anyone who could achieve the impossible: launch a spacecraft into orbit, then do it again 2 weeks later. By winning the prize, the winning team created overnight an entirely new industry of low cost, private space flight. The Breakthrough Energy Project aims to create a similar revolution for the energy sector. We will raise funding for a prize that incentivizes energy inventors to open-source their IP and share it with the world, drastically enabling our ability to fight climate change and lower atmospheric CO2. We are specifically looking for unconventional / exotic, new energy sources that 1) require no fuel and 2) create no pollution - producing abundant clean energy without limits.
