The 'Darchei Neshima' (Breathing Paths) association was established to assist patients with respiratory diseases—asthma, COPD, and bronchiectasis—and their families in advancing their health. The association was founded by Dr. Amir Bar-Shai, head of the Institute of Pulmonary Medicine at Ichilov Hospital, together with other experts and stakeholders, and has set itself the goal of promoting the following topics: • Realizing rights for asthma, COPD, and bronchiectasis patients in dealing with authorities. • Improving the quality of life and life expectancy of patients with respiratory diseases and their family members. • Assistance in introducing services and treatments for asthma, COPD, and bronchiectasis patients into the " "Israeli National Health Insurance Law's Benefits Package" in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and health insurance providers. • Encouraging research and development in the field of respiratory diseases.
