Breath-Sense is an EIC Pathfinder project dedicated to developing a cutting-edge portable breathalyser with an innovative clinical workflow, that can provide real-time, non-invasive, at-home patient monitoring. This will allow for the early prediction of exacerbations in patients living with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), with the goal to transform COPD patient outcomes.
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a prevalent global lung disease affecting nearly 400 million people and ranking as the 3rd leading cause of death worldwide. Worldwide six percent of all deaths are caused by COPD.
