Traumatic stress is a real and present issue among our military and first responder communities.
Our mission is to use Counterstrain (a physical medicine modality) for those experiencing trauma to cross the bridge from survivor to thriver. Too often, the very people who put their own safety on the line to serve their communities are under-supported in addressing the extreme experiences they face as a regular aspect of their work. We are dedicated to helping such individuals treat post-traumatic stress injuries so they can live healthy, fulfilled lives.
Our goals are ambitious.
Firstly, we work with veterans, active duty military, and first-responders to treat post-traumatic stress injuries using counterstrain.
Secondly, we are on track to publish clinical trial studies showing the efficacy of counterstrain for post-traumatic stress symptoms with the goal of having counterstrain manual therapy added to the list of modalities approved by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for those who suffer from the effects of trauma in the line of duty.
Thirdly, we are committed to disseminating information about Counterstrain to the medical community and (eventually) to subsidize training for care providers and manual therapists who want to learn and become certified counterstrain practitioners.
