About BRIDGE research project
The BRIDGE research project, titled "Breaking the Boundaries of Solitude: The Role of Managers in Supporting Social and Professional Inclusion of Independent Remote Workers", seeks to explore how managers can actively combat the social and professional isolation experienced by Independent Remote Workers (IRWs). While traditional research has focused on social isolation, our project shifts the focus to professional isolation, which has been largely overlooked in the literature. Through a mixed-methods approach, including qualitative interviews with both IRWs and their managers, and quantitative surveys, this research project aims to uncover strategies and interventions managers can use to foster inclusion and well-being for IRWs. The insights gained will culminate in a robust empirical model that highlights how managers can actively mitigate isolation and promote inclusion, providing valuable recommendations for supporting IRWs in professional settings. The research project is funded by the Polish National Science Centre under the SONATA 19 program, decision number DEC-2023/51/D/HS4/02357.
