BrightSide Produce builds a more equitable food system by expanding access to affordable fresh produce in underserved Twin Cities communities. We were founded in 2014 by two 16-year-olds from North Minneapolis, Adam Pruitt and Demetria Fuller, along with university biology professor Adam Kay (all current board members). BrightSide began by demonstrating a successful and financially sustainable model for fruit and vegetable delivery service for corner stores in the North Minneapolis food desert.
Today, BrightSide operates a network of interconnected programs designed to strengthen communities and target different aspects of healthy food access. Our work ensures that healthy, culturally relevant food is accessible to all, regardless of income or zip code.
