BristolSEDS : Space Exploration Society

BristolSEDS is the society for all students who are interested in all forms of Space Exploration, are interested in a career in the Space Industry, or simply enjoy working with like-minded people on some incredibly rewarding technical projects. As the Bristol branch of UKSEDS we represent all students who have an interest and enthusiasm for Space. The society is open to everyone from the University with a diverse range of courses represented; you don't need any prior knowledge or experience! BristolSEDS has a long history of successful and technically impressive projects. For 2022/2023, the committee has a fantastic year planned with national competitions such as CanSats and the UKSEDS National Rocketry Competition, Olympus Rover Trials, In-Orbit Service and Manufacture and the Satellite Design Competition. We'll also be making a return & recruiting further for our team for the Mach-23 High Power University Rocketry competition at Machrihanish Spaceport in Scotland. With a target apogee of 3 km, it's definitely one you'll want to join! We also have hosted talks on space-related topics (with panels for Women In Space & Space Law coming up this year!), as well as collective viewings of launches such as the Falcon Heavy in 2018 or the Perseverance landing in 2021. We'll also be making an appearance at the National Student Space Conference (NSSC) this year, featuring talks & displays from industry and space at large (Very JWST heavy at NSSC 2022).
