BRITE Box - Voices of Hope

BRITE Box is a recipe meal kit containing all the ingredients and an illustrated recipe guide to enable families to cook a healthy meal together on a budget. BRITE Box stands for Building Resilience In Today's Environment and our aims are to address the issue of food insecurity in a hands-on, fun, family way, to bring families together around food and to equip them with the skills and confidence to enjoy cooking and eating well. The project was founded and is run by Kingston Upon Thames based charity Voices of Hope. During the pandemic, the issue of food insecurity in families became highly visible. We know that healthy, nutritious meals are essential both to the physical and mental health of children and so we started the BRITE Box project in May 2020 as a proactive response. Due to its impact locally and a growing need, BRITE Box now works with children and families across the UK and is particularly, though not exclusively focused on reaching those who have been identified by schools or youth groups as being at risk of food insecurity. BRITE Box is powered by volunteers and is delivered to families each week through a number of partner organisations and over 40 primary schools across multiple UK Boroughs.
