Welcome to Brown Formula Racing, Brown University's premier design and build team. Our goal is to develop and race the next generation of formula-style racecar for FSAE Michigan, the largest collegiate engineering and racing competition of its kind in North America. We pride ourselves on running a team where anyone can join and learn, regardless of major or previous experience. In fact, the majority of our team members have never used the tools or software we teach, making the experience all the more valuable.
Our team provides a unique opportunity to be a part of a simulated engineering business from conception to construction of our vehicle. Members gain experience in basic and advanced metal and carbon composite fabrication, 3D modeling, design for manufacture, and component and vehicle testing all while learning presentation skills and being critiqued by industry experts. In this environment, Brown Formula Racing provides a new dimension to the engineering curriculum that simply cannot be matched in the classroom.
