BrownRice Designs (BRD) is a social enterprise based in Shanghai and founded by Bonita Lim whose team is passionate about improving the lives of underprivileged woman with special needs, and orphan children. Inspired by the notion of empowerment, Brown Rice Designs transforms the lives of the disenfranchised by supporting them with skills training, and giving them the opportunity to work and grow. Collections are conceptualized and handcrafted in the BRD Studio, where work and training are provided to the previously homeless, and special needs youth. The NuoMi and MiBaby retail stores serve as platforms to highlight the handiwork of families in our livelihood program, and provide customers with creations produced by a socially responsible supply chain. Designs are inspired by both international trends and Asian art, and portray the essence of the brand that every individual is unique, intentionally designed for a purpose in life. We are seeking to partner with socially responsible retailers to grow our distribution channels.
