Baku Slavic University (BSU) is a prominent higher education institution in Azerbaijan, specializing in Slavic studies, linguistics, literature, and international relations. Established in 1946 as the Azerbaijan State Institute of Teachers, named after Mirza Fatali Akhundzade, the institution initially operated as a two-year program for teacher training. In 1952, it was reorganized into a four-year Pedagogical Institute of the Russian Language, reflecting its evolving role in promoting linguistic and cultural education. The institution officially adopted the name Baku Slavic University on June 13, 2000, marking its expansion into broader academic fields and international collaborations.
