Lived experience and learned medical outcomes!
I became a public speaker, panelist, and medical student educator after suffering from ovarian remnant syndrome post salpingo-oophorectomy prophylactically. Twenty-seven tumors were discovered and removed, followed by six rounds of aggressive chemotherapy. I provide information on my lived experience that assist providers, students, administrators and others in the healthcare industry to understand the patient experience and decision-making associated with this traumatic and rare disease.
