About Buikbelang (Gut4u)
Buikbelang (Gut4U) is a national research program initiated by the Stomach, Liver and Bowel Foundation (MLDS), the University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG), and Wageningen University & Research (WUR). Together, we aim to achieve health benefits through the gut microbiome. Gut4U has four ambitions: 1. Better understanding how the microbiome is linked to the development of diseases, so that we can use gut bacteria to promote health. 2. Enabling practical applications based on scientific research, such as through nutrition or targeted treatments. 3. Supporting healthcare professionals in applying scientific insights related to the microbiome in their professional practice. 4. Increasing awareness among the Dutch population about the microbiome, empowering them to take more control over their own health. To achieve this, we collaborate with various partners: scientific institutions, social organizations, private partners and research funders. Interested? Contact us at info@buikbelang.nl.
