Michael Derrig has been building homes on the East End since 2000. Initially an organic extension of his successful Landscape Architecture firm, Landscape Details, Building Details opened officially in 2018, as a luxury residential design and construction firm located in East Hampton and has been quickly gaining a reputation for designing and building some of the most notable homes on the East End. Bringing extraordinary focus and perfectionism to Building Details has resulted in the highest caliber construction and custom craftsmanship. Derrig has built a reputation for approaching traditional Hamptons architecture with a unique modern flair. With meticulous cabinetry, bespoke interior and exterior joinery, and refreshing materials sourced from around the world, each project ultimately reflects the client’s vision and his sought-after aesthetic. He works closely with leading architects and designers in the New York area and beyond. Derrig received his BS in Landscape Architecture from Rutgers University where he graduated cum laude. He brings a unique sensitivity to the environment and an understanding of the landscape of the East End, to each project. Building Details has been recognized in the Hamptons, for its sensitivity to the relationship between interiors and their natural surrounds.
