The book is a combination of advice and frameworks for inclusive behaviours, as well as the policies, procedures and practices to deliver inclusive outcomes. Those structural and systemic changes I describe are across how we attract people into Built Environment professions, how we treat, progress and retain them, how we design, create and develop our products and services, and how we engage our external stakeholders – clients, communities and procurement chains.
It is illustrated with case studies of great practice from across the sector, and from across the world, as well as with testimonials of those who have faced discrimination and -isms in the professions, to remind readers why a change in culture is so important.
