At the department of the Built Environment we educate students and advance knowledge in science and technology. We cover the entire range of disciplines related to the built environment from regional to worldwide scales, connecting technology, design and human behavior.
Our educational (Bachelor, Master, EngD, PhD) and research programs address key societal themes, including climate change, reduction of fossil fuel related emissions, the scarcity of resources, housing shortages, and the challenges posed by urbanization and health.
Education and research is organized by four units: Architecture, Urban Design & Engineering, Building Physics & Services, Structural Engineering & Design, and Urban Systems & Real Estate.
