Buklan for Development

Baklan was established in 2023 as an extension of the Aman Initiative, which was launched in 2018 through the Jordan River Foundation (Queen Rania Family and Child Center), with support and funding from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). At that time, it worked on child protection from abuse and providing safe spaces for children, and aimed to integrate refugees into host communities. To achieve the concept of sustainability, Baklan Organization, through the Aman Initiative, established effective partnerships with many international organizations and civil society institutions, which allowed it to expand its scope of work to include various societal issues such as reducing gender-based violence, addressing university violence, as well as building and developing youth capacities in humanitarian and environmental work.
