Originally founded as Burlington Slate Ltd, the company was established in the mid 19th century and has a long tradition of producing high-quality stone products yielding an array of natural colours and textures from our eleven quarries operating across central and southern Cumbria. We supply customers from around the world and provide employment for 150 people, many of whom live within the National Park. As well as the company’s head office at Kirkby-in-Furness, there is also an office in Dallas, Texas. Burlington is renowned for its resourcefulness and commitment to the local economy in Cumbria. In recent years we have expanded our quarry operations, developed new product ranges and invested in the production facilities on our Kirkby site. We now provide the ultimate finishing statement for both interior and exterior environments. At the same time, we have refined our stone extraction so that we now aim to utilise 100% of the rock extracted from the quarries thus reducing waste and extending quarry life span for the benefit of future generations. We are also ISO 14001 accredited.
