Busan International School

Busan International School (BIS) is going to be an International school that will be serving students from Kindergarten to Year 13, aiming to be an IB World School, with IB PYP, IB MYP, and IB Diploma programme - Boarding will be available at BIS. The ratio of students would be approximately 50% Korean citizens and 50% foreign International students. BIS will be committed to building a diverse background for the students in order to expose them to the globalized world allowing the students to be open-minded. All students must take a test in English, Korean, and Mathematics - in order to provide the admissions officer a picture of where the student would be standing in. Other than academia, BIS values sports and athletics as a key component to build well-balanced students. BIS will be coaching and will be introducing new sports where it is uncommon in South Korea, such as lacrosse, ice hockey, rowing, horse polo, and cricket. With its strategic location at Busan, BIS will also teach yacht racing, yacht sailing, yacht skipping, and scuba diving (PADI). BIS is a co-founder of the Asian Sports Athletic Conference (ASAC), and is a co-founder of the Leading Leadership Diploma (LLDP) of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG) along with the International School of Geneva, Choate Rosemary Hall, and the North London Collegiate School. BIS is home to the Red Crimson, Cardinal Ice Complex for Ice Hockey, and Bakerfield Sports Center which is going to be built along with the standard of FIFA Soccer and the Olympics. BIS is sponsored by and is governed by the Samsung Foundation Education for Excellence and the Walkerhill Foundation. Samsung's partnership allows BIS and students to learn from latest gadgets. BIS is a partner school to experiment with ISDPO and NSLE Baccalore degree in partnership with the course-written school, KWCNEA.
