Coffee and community is not just a tagline. Elias Wossenu Gurmu and Sarina Prabasi started Buunni when they moved from Addis Ababa to New York City in 2011. Now Buunni is a beloved brand with four cafes in Upper Manhattan and a roastery, co-roasting and coffee education space in Hunts Point in the South Bronx.
Inspired by Ethiopian coffee culture and hospitality, Buunni is known for building an inclusive business in communities where it sources and serves its coffee.
