Hello, we're Buyergains and we’re here to make it easy for you to buy together and get great savings (and have some fun too). We have been thinking about creating a platform for a few years now. When e-commerce became popular, we, like many others, were impressed and thought we were going to get some amazing prices on good products. However, something was not right. eCommerce was great, for the companies selling the products, not for individual buyers. The best offers were on clearance products that no one really wanted. There were hardly any offers on popular products. In the mad rush of festive offers, like many, we ended up buying things that we didn’t really want and the prices turned out to be marketing gimmick in most cases. Something was not right. e-Commerce was not enough.
We found shopping alone dull. We missed the fun of sharing, we missed the debates and the discussions. We thought it was time to bring back the fun into shopping; time to buy together and gain from it.
We thought about our parents who would buy vegetables in bulk because they got better prices. We remembered our Economics professor who taught us how consumers get better prices when the demand is higher. That’s how we got the idea of creating a platform where buyers can join forces and buy together to get bulk discounts.
A platform where buyers can collectively bargain for awesome deals on great products. Win-win situation: 'buyers get the best available prices on popular products and suppliers are able to offer the best prices due to higher buying volumes and lower inventory costs'
We call the model co-commerce. A cool 'Co' as a short for collaborative. It was difficult to leave the security of our cushy jobs and focus on the platform, but We could not wait any longer. We had to create a model where an individual buyer gains when all buyers gain as a whole.
