Did you know the City of Vancouver throws out 2.6 million disposable cups every week? Not only are they an inefficient use of resources, these single-use cups are contributing to a growing waste issue. Many solutions have been tried to curb the waste including surcharges, discounts, and cup sharing programs. However, none of these address a root cause which is our disposable culture.
Our mission is to reduce disposable cup waste while connecting individuals and their actions to a larger cause—seeking to provoke deeper thinking about our individual environmental impact on a global level. BYO is a mobile app-based program where customers who bring their own cups to local cafes can collect points towards rewards while contributing to global reforestation efforts.
