OUR STORY
In July 1976 Steve Jobs sold the very first Apple computer to The Byte Shop in Mountain View, California, quite simply this changed the world we live in today.
Having taken a trip to the United States, Sir Peter Rigby spotted a gap in the market for a high quality computer retail chain that offered the very best in terms of product, advice, customer service and repairs.
Having sought the advice of legendary British design and retail guru Sir Terrance Conran, Sir Peter and Sir Terrance embarked on this journey and in 1993 Byte Computer Superstores was launched.
These stores where elegant, stocked the very latest in computer hardware, software and accessories and offered a level of customer service and knowledge that was unknown and well before its time, they really where the hottest thing on the market.
The company grew from strength to strength and by Christmas 1996 was Britain's largest computer retailer with over 61 locations including 13 superstores. The company was acquired by PC WORLD in 1998 who re-branded each store leaving the Byte name to no longer exist.
After an absence of 16 years Byte is back!

Having obtained an Apple MFI Developers Licence shortly after the iPhone 5 was released, Byte went onto launch a range of premium quality Apple Certified accessories for iPod, iPhone and iPad, including the world’s most powerful Apple Certified Car Charger.
Apple started their amazing journey in The Byte Shop, our vision is to come full circle and have Byte products take their rightful place in Apple stores worldwide, providing customers the very best quality accessories and an unparalleled customer service experience.
After all “the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do”.
