C4 was founded in 1986 by Marco Bonfanti. Until the mid 1980s, bicycle forks and frames were all manufactured with welded metal tubes. Marco Bonfanti has a revolutionary idea and designs and manufactures AERO: the first carbon fiber monocoque bicycle frame in the world. In 1989, Marco Bonfanti, passionate about diving, manufactures the first carbon fiber fin blades in the world. It is a leap forward and the world of freediving will never be the same. In 2019 a new important era begins for C4. The Ciceri brothers, former owners of Omersub and Sporasub, purchase the majority of the shares of the company. The manufacturing of our carbon fiber blades line continues today to be entirely and exclusively carried out at our plant in Olginate (LC). In 2022 a new plastic injection department is created, featuring six Engel Injection machines with an automated production line. More and more products are manufactured internally through an innovative and environmentally friendly process. In 2024 C4 becomes entirely “solar powered” through a big investment in solar panels both at our production plant in Olginate (LC) and our head quarters in Albiate (MB). Innovation, design and the never ending search of performance are at the base of all C4 products and they will always be an integral part of our DNA.
