About Communities for Alcohol- and Drug-Free Youth
Communities for Alcohol- and Drug-Free Youth (CADY) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission to empower healthy choices, drug-free lifestyles, and promising futures through collaboration, education, and engagement of Central NH communities, including: Alexandria, Ashland, Bridgewater, Bristol, Danbury, Campton, Ellsworth, Groton, Hebron, Holderness, Lincoln, New Hampton, Plymouth, Rumney, Thornton, Warren, Waterville Valley, Wentworth, and Woodstock. Since 1999, CADY has remained focused on the prevention of youth alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use through evidence-based programming and the promotion of healthy environments and promising futures. CADY has an outstanding success story that includes exemplary coalition-building, high-level collaborations, and stellar outcomes recognized on the national and state levels with awards and accolades. We engage a broad pool of community partners, stakeholders, and resources to build community capacity and youth resiliency through a three-tiered strategy of information, education and collaboration to prevent and reduce the harms of substance misuse and addiction. With over 25 years of experience in prevention, coalition-building, and community engagement, CADY (Communities for Alcohol- and Drug-free Youth) is proud to offer the Prevention Accelerator—a powerful suite of evidence-based toolkits designed to help schools, coalitions, and youth-serving organizations across the country prevent youth substance use and promote mental, emotional, and behavioral health. Grounded in the Strategic Prevention Framework, each toolkit provides ready-to-use, research-based content from trusted sources like CDC, SAMHSA, and NIDA.
