Africa - Canada Women's Business Council (ACWBC)

The Africa–Canada Women’s Business Council (ACWBC) is a duly registered non-profit organization in Canada. Its mission is to promote the growth, visibility, and full participation of women entrepreneurs in economic relations between Canada and Africa. The creation of ACWBC is both coherent and strategic, aligning closely with current governmental priorities: On one hand, the Government of Canada recently unveiled its first-ever Africa Strategy, signaling a clear political will to enhance trade, diplomatic, and social cooperation with the continent. On the other hand, the Government of Quebec, a pioneer in this area, has been implementing an ambitious Africa strategy for nearly a decade, supported by strong diplomatic representation and major investments in the internationalization of Quebec businesses. It is within this framework that ACWBC positions itself: to build a reliable, strategic, and inclusive network that empowers women entrepreneurs to confidently and effectively navigate the Africa–Canada economic corridor, scale internationally, forge strong partnerships, and increase their competitiveness. ACWBC’s mission is to: Provide resources to support the entrepreneurial growth of women in business who are developing or planning Africa–Canada bilateral projects. Strengthen capacity through training, networking, and mentorship programs. Facilitate partnerships between Canada and Africa to promote economic and cultural cooperation. Promote sustainable practices and encourage members to adopt environmentally responsible approaches in their business activities. Several programs have been developed as part of ACWBC’s activities.
