Cafe 1600 is Bakersfield Adult School's newest Workforce Innovation Programs. We are "Culinary Arts 2.0". The cafe is a working, creative and vibrant "scratch kitchen" where students get a comprehensive restaurant experience. The compressed and accelerated program instructs students in the front and and back of the house. They earn industry recognized certifications in food handling, recipe creation and entrepreneurial skills from two instructors simultaneously. A formally trained chef and a Career Technical Education credentialed, Business Instructor. The program is housed at the America's Job Center at 1600 East Belle Terrace.
