It all began in 1982 at a small store called Yankee Doodle Cafe when our now CEO, made some extra hero style sandwiches after a large catering order for some 3-foot heroes for a guest. He prepared them, altered them with some cutting-edge aioli’s, put them out and people loved them. They wanted more and thus the Café Metro concept was born. Almost 40 years later we are one of NYC’s most recognized and loved fast casual establishments stretching from midtown to Brooklyn and celebrated in the media from Crain’s, Daily News to WNBC. What’s our recipe for success? It’s the people that we call our team and the people you call your friends that you come to see daily. Sure, we serve healthy, locally sourced foods that taste great but what we love to serve is smiles and a memorable guest experience!
