About CAG Brain and Technology (BAT CAG)

The Brain and Technology Clinical Academic Group (BAT CAG) is a cross-disciplinary initiative dedicated to improving the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of neurological disorders by integrating digital technologies, real-world data, and artificial intelligence. Steering committee includes: - Martin Ballegaard, Zealand University Hospital (Senior chair) - Paul Michael Petersen, Technical University of Denmark (Senior Chair) - Helle Marie Hüche Larsen, University of Copenhagen (Junior Chair) - Trine Hørmann Thomsen, Copenhagen University Hospital (Junior Chair) - Tobias Søren Andersen, Technical University of Denmark - Christina Kruuse, Copenhagen University Hospital - Jakob Bardram, Technical University of Denmark - Henriette Langstrup, University of Copenhagen We develop and implement smart eDevices (wearable, portable, or implantable) for continuous symptom monitoring in patients' everyday lives. By combining medical expertise with data science, engineering, and the social sciences, we aim to identify new digital biomarkers, build robust data infrastructures, and bring brain health innovations from lab to clinic. Our work supports clinicians, researchers, and patients alike by: - Enhancing early detection and personalized care - Co-creating solutions with users to ensure ethical, sustainable implementation - Translating scientific knowledge into clinical standards and digital health education - Generating real-time data to support precision medicine and research Neurological conditions represent a growing health challenge and a significant share of healthcare costs. By bridging the gap between clinical environments and real-world settings, BAT CAG provides the evidence and tools needed to transform care for conditions such as epilepsy, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and sensory or cognitive impairments.
