Canada Anti-Human Trafficking Consortium (CAHTC)

Canada Anti-Human Trafficking Consortium (CAHTC - /kat/) is on a mission to mobilize knowledge and tools to enhance victim identification and prosecution rates in Canada. Our purpose is to empower the private sector to actively combat human trafficking. Our vision is a Canada free of human trafficking. CAHTC was built out of a shared fixation on tangible results. Our founding members believe the problem of human trafficking in Canada must be tackled through a systems approach. Our raison d'être is to unite the private sector & leverage innovative data & tech solutions to identify more victims & prosecute more traffickers. The current victim identification and prosecution rates are estimated to be less than 1%. To tackle this issue head on, CAHTC works with a collective group of anti-financial crime professionals, law enforcement agents and survivor leaders. Using our data, intel reports, and heat maps, stakeholders were able to locate 80+ victims, and approach them on the phone and in person. This led to the extraction of victims and proactive reporting on trafficking entities to several law enforcement agencies.
