CAIPIRINH3A aims to break down barriers to ammonia as an alternative fuel by developing the Plasma Mist Ammonia (PlasMi-NH3) burner—a groundbreaking, plasma-enabled combustor that burns ammonia efficiently with ultra-low NOx emissions. Using advanced kinetic models, injectors, and plasma systems, this innovative technology will enhance combustion, delivering thermal efficiency similar to diesel engines, reducing NOx emissions, and minimising ammonia in exhaust. The project aligns with EU goals for a cleaner energy future, offering a disruptive solution for carbon-free combustion systems, with a significant impact on power generation and transportation sectors.
