• The idea of establishing Cairo Utility Data Center (C.U.D.C.) has started during the digging works of underground metro. Contractors have faced major obstacles as the lack of information of utilities locations. We didn’t have neither the technology of detecting utilities at that time in Egypt nor the technical cadres for it.
• Therefore. C.U.D.C. was established in 1988. It is the service center responsible for detecting all underground utilities to maintain infra- structure which is estimated by milliards of pounds in Cairo.
• Prime minister has inaugurated C.U.D.C. officially on 13/3/1991.
• Seven sub- branches of C.U.D.C. were established during the period from 1991 -2015.
