Cake Connect

OUR STORY OUR FOUNDERS: Lucy and Zoe Growing up together in New York City, we both stayed very close with our extended families, even though they were spread all over the world. We didn't appreciate how lucky we were to celebrate holidays with our loved ones until we started volunteering with the elderly in middle school. They appreciated our company and told us that they almost never see their family or visitors, even on special occasions. We came up with Cake Connect to make elderly people feel special, especially elderly people without family here in New York City. Since 2017, we have been making baked goods and celebrating special occasions with the elderly. This work gives us the opportunity to connect and learn from older people in our community, all while alleviating their loneliness and making them feel special.
