The Canadian Association for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CALACS), founded in 1969, facilitates networking and information exchange among persons, in Canada and abroad, engaged in researching, teaching, and crafting policy on Latin America and the Caribbean.
We also foster the expansion of information on and interest in Latin America and the Caribbean within Canadian universities, colleges, and other centres of higher education, and represent the academic and professional interests of Latin Americanists and Caribbeanists in Canada.
CALACS has also a number of agreements and MOUs in the Latin American region that facilitate the exchange of projects, people, and ideas in the Americas.
