The Calgary Firefighters Association is affiliated as Local 255 of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF), representing more than 1700 members of the Calgary Fire Department. Local 255 is the second largest IAFF Local in Canada and is comprised of Firefighters, Apparatus Technicians and maintenance staff.
Organized in 1917 as Local 19 of the Federal Fire Fighters Union, Calgary Firefighters affiliated with the IAFF on October 4, 1923. The Calgary Firefighters Association has grown and evolved over the years, but our mandate remains the same.
