About CALIPSO - EDF 2023
The CALIPSO project, funded by the European Commission (European Defence Fund, EDF2023), aims to revolutionize naval and land propulsion by developing innovative, sustainable, and efficient technologies and systems. These advancements will enhance the performance, autonomy, and resilience of naval and land platforms while meeting Europe’s strategic objectives for energy independence and technological sovereignty in defence. This 36-month project, coordinated by the National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos”, brings together a consortium of leading industrial and academic partners from across Europe, including: • Greece: NCSR Demokritos (Coordinator), DNV; • Austria: AVL list; • Belgium: Anglo Belgian Corporation, SEA Europe; • Estonia: Cafa Tech; • France: Arquus, CEA, Naval Group; • Germany: Fraunhofer, INERATEC, Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles; • Hungary: VIKI; • Italy: Avio Aero, Fincantieri, IVECO; • Netherlands: Damen, Marin, TNO; • Norway: FFI, IFE, Kongsberg Maritime AS, Norwegian Hydrogen, SINTEF Ocean; • Poland: Wojskowa Akademia Techniczna; • Spain: ARPA, UCLM; • Slovenia: TECES; • Sweden: SAAB Kockums. CALIPSO will foster innovation by encouraging collaboration among experts, aiming to set new standards in propulsion technologies and strengthen Europe's autonomy in naval and land defence sectors.
