Through our non-profit organization, Olympian Chandrasekhar Menon Trust, we want to bring sustainable and professional mental health assistance to those in direct need. With the help of leading mental health professionals, we provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem by utilizing telephone hotlines and medias. We campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. The telephone can play a major role in suicide prevention. It is very important to get someone to talk while a person is going through severe stress and suicidal tendency. The phone number for this project is 8929800777. People with suicidal tendencies or severe depression can call this number and talk to a specially trained psychologist. If treatment is needed, advice will be given. Dr. Abdul Bari, former Superintendent of the Thiruvananthapuram Mental Health Centre, is providing technical leadership to the project. He is accompanied by Dr. Sagar Thankachan, a psychiatrist at the Thiruvananthapuram Mental Health Centre. We have a team of psychiatrists and psychologists working with us providing 24/7 services.
