About Cambridge Regulator Knowledge Exchange
The financial services industry is undergoing a rapid and far-reaching transformation, underpinned by emerging technologies, actors and activities. This transformation is fundamentally changing market structures and opening opportunities for both incumbents and challengers to create innovative, alternative financial products and services with the potential for improved service quality and variety, as well as increased access and reduced prices. Regulators are responding to these changes in the financial services landscape and introducing their own range of innovative initiatives to address market developments in their jurisdictions. The Regulator Knowledge Exchange was created in response to these rapidly changing financial systems and regulatory environments. Its purpose is to provide a platform for regulators and policymakers to collaborate on joint projects, discuss and become aware of the emergent challenges and to formulate evidence-based regulatory, supervisory and policy responses to the development of financial technology. The Exchange has users from 180+ jurisdictions and, in addition to facilitating working groups, provides an online platform where members can: • Connect with financial regulators and policymakers specialising in digital transformation • Collaborate with other members through private working groups and forums • Access a library of curated resources relating to regulatory innovation, including case studies, datasets, policy and digital toolkits • Attend events and workshops hosted by senior regulators and industry experts • Access digital tools such as RegSimple, the University of Cambridge’s financial regulatory benchmarking tool The Regulator Knowledge Exchange is a not-for profit community generously supported the University of Cambridge as well as philanthropic development organisations.
