CAMELEON Association Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit, non-government organization that provides protection and rehabilitation services to sexually abused young girl-survivors in Western Visayas, Philippines. Likewise, the association also provides educational assistance and livelihood opportunities to economically disadvantaged children and their families in the neighboring communities through its Community Development Program. It has also established its advocacy program to raise awareness on Child’s rights and prevention of any child abuse cases.
Vision
CAMELEON aspires to a world without sexual violence. In a world where sexual violence is insidious, trivialized, taboo and rarely punished, nourished by the culture of silence related to ignorance, fear, shame or denial, it is urgent to act.
Promise
"Let's give color to their life" By moving from a hostile environment to a benevolent and safe living environment, children are transformed over the years. Like our multicolored CAMELEON, they move slowly but surely, hesitating, sometimes rocking but never falling.
We build protected and victim-focused spaces to help them overcome their trauma and make it a strength to rebuild. We offer them the cocoon necessary to prepare their metamorphosis.
We aim for the transformation of minds and behaviors. We work to change society and change mentalities in order to protect childhood.
Children are at the heart of the action: change is through them, for them and around them.
