Mission CameroonONE is the first organization in Cameroon practicing Transition to Home orphan-care by placing orphaned children in the households of surviving relatives while ensuring that they receive an education and proper healthcare within a secure family environment in order to bring hope and opportunity to a large population of the country’s orphans. Vision To create a culture in which all orphaned children in Cameroon have the opportunity to grow as a member of a family and become productive citizens who will impact and lead their community into a better future. What we Do CameroonONE is a 501c3 charity organization that has two foster care systems in the Republic of Cameroon. Our organization practices family-preservation efforts by removing parentless children from their orphanages and placing them in the households of surviving family members within their communities of birth and sponsoring all education, healthcare and caretaker support. CameroonONE currently has 83 students in the villages of Mankon and Belo, Northwest Province, Cameroon. According to international laws and standards, orphaned children are supposed to be reunited with their families in cases where there are still surviving family members; CameroonONE’s mission is to uphold these standards by relieving the overcrowded and underfunded orphanages of the region while simultaneously reuniting the family and promoting the need for an education and healthier lives.  Our bee-farming projects in Belo provide funding for sponsored families by generating income through the sale of beeswax and honey within the village. This enables citizens to earn a sustainable income, helps reverse the decline of global bee populations and creates better yields for the crops of local farmers.  ONETrack International CameroonONE has begun promoting our Transition to Home orphan-care approach to other regions of the world. Through ONETrack International, our new global child advocacy project, we are able to share the CameroonONE-solution to parentless children in different communities around the globe by creating new programs and supporting the ongoing operations of organizations that already practice the Transition to Home methods of family-preservation. We have also begun advising community-based organizations on international laws and standards as well as on contemporary orphan-care techniques. At the village-level, ONETrack will continue to provide for orphaned children by removing them from their overcrowded and under-resourced orphanages and placing them in the households of extended family members (and providing for all their education and health needs as well as caretaker support) and in an conflict context, we will be providing for separated children by keeping the remaining family members together and removing them from collective institutions (such as refugee camps) to private homes. ONETrack International's US and Greek teams are in the process of launching projects in northern Greece to assist separated children from the Yazidi refugee community by facilitating the transition from their camps to individual homes. We have also recently begun partnering with our friends in Liberia to sponsor ebola orphans and their host families and we have begun working to support parentless children in Zimbabwe and The Gambia. We are currently in collaboration talks with a variety of other groups in several countries.
