Camp Kenya Overview

Camps International have an uncompromising commitment to social development and environmental protection in both Africa and Asia, and offer responsible travel experiences to adults, gap year students and school groups. We are the winners of the ‘Best Volunteering Organisation‘ category in the Responsible Tourism Awards 2008. Our business model has been created to maximise the benefits to the destination countries by committing year round to the projects, regardless of volunteer participation. We uniquely own and operate extensive ground operations in our destination countries and this enables us to deliver fully supported expeditions whilst ensuring an immaculate safety record. We have offices and fully staffed camps running in Kenya, Tanzania and Borneo, and all of our projects are co-located with indigenous communities and wildlife. Activities are varied and range from constructing school classrooms and supplying drinking water, to assisting anti-poaching patrols, environmental education and marine workshops. In 2007, approximately 30% of our gross turnover was spent in ways that benefit the planet. This figure exceeds annual net profits for every operating year to date.
