Canopy Regenerative

Canopy's mission is to bring forest landscape restoration to scale in East Africa with a current focus on the Albertine Region. Powered by the Miyawaki Method of forest making and Syntropic Agroforestry approaches to reforestation, the goal is to build back forests of native species that are diverse, multilayered and regenerative; and deliver strong ecological and economic benefits for investors and communities. With a current portfolio of over 1,000 ha undergoing restoration, Canopy supports private land owners and institutional clients with tools, resources, and project management services to restore forest landscapes with robust in-built non-timber revenue models - making sure that our forests are more valuable while standing than when they are cut down. Our ambition is to support at least 10,000 ha under regenerative management by 2040. We prioritise native species.
