The CanSLAM Circuit

The CanSLAM Circuit is an event to encourage SLAM manufacturers from all over the world to come to Canada and demo their units in controlled sites at geomatics institutions across the country. From there, we assess each data set for performance using set criteria, report on the results (without appointing 'winners' or 'losers'), present the findings at the GoGeomatics Expo, then make the data sets publicly available at no cost. The objectives of this event are to: 1) Introduce Canadian industry to SLAM manufacturers around the world. 2) Promote discussion on application and adoption of SLAM systems. 3) Introduce critical considerations for SLAM adoption including performance-based results. 4) Provide a free data set for those who are looking to buy, or incorporate data from, these systems into their workflows. 5) Bring SLAM manufacturers together to foster further/accelerated development 6) Provide system data for A.I. downstream processes like auto-extraction, auto-modeling, autonomous system navigation, asset/project management, and more. To do this, we have partnered with geomatics (earth measurement) institutions and professionals from across the continent to provide insightful and highly specialized feedback to potential developers, users and utilizers alike.
