La storia di Cantine Ermes affonda le sue radici in un recente passato di distruzione e ricostruzione. Nella notte tra il 14 e il 15 gennaio 1968, un terremoto di devastanti proporzioni cancellò parte dei piccoli centri della Valle del Belìce: Gibellina, Salaparuta, Poggioreale, Partanna, Santa Ninfa, Salemi, Santa Margherita di Belìce, Montevago e Sambuca di Sicilia.
Ma è proprio da quella stessa terra, che così tanto ha tolto ma che tanto è stata generosa, che un gruppo di giovani viticoltori ha deciso di ripartire, intraprendendo un percorso di crescita e di riscatto sociale ed economico che si è concretizzato nel 1998 con la costituzione di Cantine Ermes, la cui sede si trova proprio nel cuore della Valle del Belìce, tra i comuni di Gibellina e Santa Ninfa.
The history of Cantine Ermes is rooted in a recent past of destruction and reconstruction. During the night between 14 and 15 January 1968, an earthquake of devastating proportions erased some of the small centers of the Belich Valley: Gibellina, Salaparuta, Poggioreale, Partanna, Santa Ninfa, Salemi, Santa Margherita di Belìce, Montevago and Sambuca of Sicily. But it is from that same land, which so much taken away but that was generous enough, that a group of young winegrowers decided to resume, pursuing a path of growth and social and economic redemption that came to fruition in 1998 with the Constitution of Cantine Ermes, whose headquarters are located right in the heart of the Valle del Belìce, between the municipalities of Gibellina and Santa Ninfa.
