Canvas Central launched in 2003 in Dubai with the aim to bring people and places closer together to grow as a creative union around art and culture. Canvas Central consists of three magazines:
• Canvas English – art & culture in and about the Middle East
• Canvas Arabic – bi-yearly Arabic magazine complementing the English version
• Sorbet – thematic, quarterly on lifestyle, fashion, art & more
Founded by Ali Y. Khadra, Canvas was the first contemporary art magazine in the region and served as the primary catalyst for the growth and prosperity of the expanding art scene in the Middle East and its presence internationally. Based in the UAE and KSA, the magazines introduce regional artists to the international art platform as well as international artists to the region.
Sorbet magazine was launched in 2013 with the dream to create an experience: One to love. One to keep. One to Inspire. Sorbet has grown into an enticingly curious quarterly, thematic ‘book’ with cutting-edge content and unique design, introducing our dynamic audience of trendsetting men and women to some of the most iconic and influential people worldwide, from celebrities and artists to fashion designer, top models, culinary geniuses, music heads and more.
