About Capacity Building Project on Low Carbon and Climate Resilient City Development in India

Capacity Building for Low Carbon and Climate Resilient City Development in India (CapaCITIES) is a project funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). It is a multi-year project focusing on mainstreaming climate action in eight Indian Cities and two Indian states. The project is supporting cities and states in development policies, formulation, and implementation of integrated action plans and measures across priority sectors, sharing experiences with other cities, and providing technical support for pilot and long-term bankable projects. Implementation agencies of CapaCITIES i.e. South Pole, ICLEI and e-concept are actively working with these cities and states for actualizing their climate action. The team is closely working with city administration in climate resilient city action plan development, developing a pipeline of climate-resilient bankable projects by assisting them by preparing concepts and structures which leverage existing State resources and enable Public Private Participation (PPP).
